Alone or Lonely

Last Friday, I decided to make a stop at the local "everything store" and pick-up some rain ponchos for our Canada's Wonderland trip the next day. There's no harm in being prepared.

I walked in, the sky was dull and grey. I walked out, and I could see light peeking through the clouds. So I looked up, and immediately focused on the parking lot fixture and the seagull. Now let me tell you, there were 50 seagulls resting on the grass, but that one was by itself, all alone.

I grabbed my camera (back to my handy dandy Canon), zoomed in and took the shot. Within seconds, the seagull left me. I think he's camera shy.

I get so amused watching seagulls, geese, ducks or whatever flock together, rest together or do anything together. And when I see a lonely creature by itself, I always wonder "why?".

So, here is my disconnected from everyone seagull friend. Resting. Watching. Protecting. Thinking. Reflecting. Or maybe controlling his anger after an argument.

So {Whatever} his reasons were, I enjoyed the moment. Because I too, disconnect from the world when I must.
